About

Founder Sue Yeong Baek is an award-winning Korean-Canadian filmmaker, street photographer and producer. An industry veteran, Sue has worked on over 400 hours of CSA -nominated television and films. She realized her dream of directing with her first film, SO-RI 소리, which was a finalist in the 2024 Mighty Asian Moviemaking Marathon in Vancouver. There she won Best Director (over Best First Time Director), earning her a mentorship with the Directors Guild of Canada.

Sue’s next short film is slated for production in Fall 2025. This story of a teen protagonist living in poverty will be served by the evocative, atmospheric look of her street photography. Her other projects include an animation proof-of-concept short film featuring Chinese-Canadian characters and a feature film based on her father’s life.

Sue was also one of four teams across Canada selected for the Canada-Asia Pacific Co-Production Accelerator. She is currently developing a half-hour comedy series with actor and writer Ryan Jinn for powerhouse Korean studio, SLL.
