Founder Sue Yeong Baek is an award-winning Korean-Canadian filmmaker, street photographer and producer. An industry veteran, Sue has produced on the business side of film for 20 years amassing credits on over 400 hours of CSA-nominated television and films. She realized her dream of directing with her first film, SO-RI 소리, which was a finalist in the Mighty Asian Moviemaking Marathon in Vancouver. There she won Best Director (over Best First Time Director), earning her a mentorship with the Directors Guild of Canada.

Sue's next film is a story about a teenager living in extreme poverty that will be served by the evocative, atmospheric look of Sue's street photography. Her other film projects include an animation proof-of-concept short film featuring Chinese-Canadian characters and a feature film based on her father's life.

Sue was also part of one of four teams across Canada selected for the RESO Canada Asia-Pacific Co-production Accelerator, a program funded by the CMF. She is developing with leading Korean studio SLL a half-hour comedy television series that just received development financing from Creative BC. Attached to this project are showrunner Anthony Q. Farrell and creator Ryan Jinn, winner of the San Francisco Film Critics Circle award for his raw performance on stage with Ins Choi in Kim’s Convenience, a play that recently completed a year-long tour across the United States.
